Beached whale.. Pool whale? 🐳 Took longer than I'd like to admit to get on this float but I STILL FLOAT! 😂
TMI ⚠️ Some of you may have caught my story, but at 37+1, the evening before my birthday, I lost a chunk of my mucus plug.. Then lost the rest of it the following morning. I've had strong frequent Braxton Hicks inconsistently the whole day (every 10-15 minutes) along with a stabby vagina. Reality set in that I should probably pack that hospital bag. I told my husband what I had witnessed and threw a load of laundry in the wash. Even as a second time dad, he starts freaking out like WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? What do I do? Are we leaving? Do I need to pack? WHY ARE YOU DOING LAUNDRY? 😂 I had to refresh his memory that 1) It just means the cervix is effacing (thinning out) and possibly dilating, which means 2) BIRTH IS IMMINENT, as in labor can start within hours.. or days.. or weeks. The miracle of life is a huge waiting game, and 3) The mucus plug CAN regenerate.
Although I started getting dull back pains, the contractions did not get more intense or more frequent than every 10 mins. I was really hoping baby boy wouldn't come on my birthday (or my birthday month actually) and thankfully he has been considerate enough to stay put. He has definitely dropped though and I'm still feeling tons of pelvic pressure. I never saw my mucus plug with my first pregnancy; my water broke without warning and contractions started 30 mins later. Ten hours later she was in my arms.. so this is all new territory for me! It'll be interesting to see how different labor + delivery is with this one.
